Open Bar & Food — Puerto Aventuras Boat Charters
Every private boat charter leaving Puerto Aventuras marina includes a fully open bar for the whole trip. Not a welcome drink and a price list — an open bar.
This page covers the seven-boat charter fleet at Puerto Aventuras and the trips it runs along the Riviera Maya coast. It does not describe our Cancún charters, our Cozumel trips, or the cenote and archaeological tours — each of those lists its own inclusions on its own page.
Is it actually open?
This is the question we get more than any other, so: yes. There is no tab, no per-drink charge, no counting and no cut-off. The boat is stocked for the length of your charter and the size of your group, and the crew pour for as long as you are aboard.
What is aboard as standard
- Beer — Mexican national beers
- Tequila — Jose Cuervo
- Vodka — Smirnoff
- Rum — Bacardi Blanco
- Whisky — Johnnie Walker Red Label
- Soft drinks and mixers — Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Light, Sprite, orange, pineapple and cranberry juice, bottled water
Margaritas are made on board. Ask the crew — several of the boats have a signature one and they are quietly competitive about it.
If you want something else
A specific brand. Tell us when you book and we will do our best to have it aboard. It is usually possible and it usually costs nothing.
Premium spirits. The standard bar can be swapped for a premium one for the whole charter — reposado and blanco tequilas, premium vodka, aged rum, black-label whisky, premium gin and imported beer. Priced per guest and it moves with the length of the charter, so ask when you enquire and we will quote it against your actual trip.
Bottle service. If you would rather have one particular bottle than a whole tier, the boat can be stocked per bottle instead. Same thing — ask and we will price it.
All of it is arranged when you book rather than on the day. The boats provision before they leave the marina; there is no shop at the anchorage.

- Life jackets
Food is not the same on every trip
The bar above is identical across the fleet. The food is not, and it is the main thing that separates a three-hour trip from an eight-hour one:
- The three-hour cruise carries guacamole made on board, chips and fresh fruit.
- The four-hour trips — Inha and Paamul Bay — add shrimp and fish ceviche, made while you are in the water.
- The longer trips — Inha & La Bocana, Cozumel & Palancar and Tulum — add hot food off the grill: cheeseburgers or fajitas.
On any of them, whatever you catch while trolling can be cooked on board and eaten fresh.
Larger catering — platters, a cake for a celebration, a chef cooking a set menu — can be added to any charter. Tell us what the day is for when you enquire.
One thing that is not included
The marina charges a $20 USD dock fee per guest, payable on the day and separate from the charter rate. It is not ours and we cannot waive it, but you should know about it before you book rather than at the dock.
Booking something else?
The inclusions above apply to the Puerto Aventuras charter fleet only. Our Cozumel trips, Cancún charters and the cenote and archaeological tours are run differently and each page lists what that trip includes. If in doubt, ask before you book — we would rather answer twice than have you find out at the dock.
