Cozumel’s reefs sit inside a national park on the sheltered western side of the island, which is why the visibility here is what it is — commonly 30 metres and often more. The current does most of the work: these are drift dives, and you finish somewhere other than where you started.

Two tanks, two sites, with a surface interval between. Certification is required and checked — this is not a discover-scuba session.

What to expect

Drift diving — you move with the current rather than swimming against it. Comfortable for anyone recently certified, but certification is mandatory and will be checked at the dock.
